The SS Eclipse suffers some fin damage at the CTRA Invitational.  An Animal Motor Works K800 took the trusty beast to to over 7,800 feet and broke the sound barrier (along with two fins).  See more HERE

PML Eclipse under AMW Power

This photo was taken at CTRA's Invitational launch, 9-7-03.  Photo was taken by member Nick DeBrita.  This is my PML Eclipse (pre-glassed phenolic) on its way to over 7,000 on an Animal Motor Works K475.
Electronics consisted of a PML Co-Pilot for dual deploy and a rocket hunter.

LOC Bruiser-EXP under full power.

This was taken on 9-6-03 at CTRA's Invitational launch by Mark Lewis.  For this flight the Bruiser started on a central Aerotech J-570 W, upon launch detect a pair of outboard Pro38 J-285 were ignited by a G-WIZ MC.  For this flight the Bruiser was configured for dual-deploy using an ARRD.  At apogee a Rocketman R4 ballistic drogue was deployed.  When the ARRD released the drogue pulled out the deployment bag releasing the R14 main.  Nosecone and deployment bag descended on the R4 once released.  Electronics consisted of the GWiz-MC as primary, an ARTS as backup, Rocket Hunters in case it went walk-a-bout, and a GPS-Flight system for real time telemetry.

BATFE Conducts tests to "prove" High Power Rockets are dangerous to commercial airliners.

Seems like the BATFE failed to follow our safety codes (no surprise there) and managed to destroy their rental vehicle during the test.

BATFE forces Aerotech to supply them with motors for the tests.

Homeland Defense Journal publishes anti-rocketry propaganda

A recent article entitled "Directed Infrared Countermeasures - The Total Solution?" by Salvatore Cezar Pais is full of inaccuracies not the least of which is the authors statement that 2-stage high power model rockets can be used to shoot down airliners.

Model Rocketry under attack by ATFE and Homeland Security Act

Model rocketry as we know it (especially High Power Rocketry) is in danger of extinction.
